A Bit About Me

My name is Chase Sharpe. I am now 12 years old. I have racing running through my veins. My Grandpa raced Classic Touring cars in the 80’s and my Father and my Uncle race in the British MG Championship. Racing is in our family. I have been around the racing paddock since I was born. Now, it’s my turn to race…

It all started when we went to Whilton Mill in Northamptonshire for a taster session in March 2017 (When it was my 6th birthday) and loved it. At the same time, one of my sponsors got me a Project One Cadet kart and I picked this up from Whilton Mill at the same time.

Since that point, I haven’t looked back.

I started testing every couple of weeks at my local kart track near Melton Mowbray and then in April 2017 we found our karting home, at Stretton Circuit in Leicestershire.

I test as much as I can, to perfect my speed and race craft. My Father is by my side telling me the best racing lines and I have a lot of support from my sponsors. Without them, my karting programme would not be possible.

I completed my first race in November 2017, at the age of 6 and I learnt a lot!

From that point, I have been competing on my Honda Cadet 160, or my 2 stroke kart. We have done a full season in the BirelArt series, which then became the high profile Daniel Ricciardo Series, which I raced in throughout the 2019 season.

Then, with the reduction of age in Junior Autograss, when it was announced in June 2019, it moved our plans of moving to cars forward by 2 years. I started testing in my Junior Special Autograss car, which was great fun, but then a chance came up to test a Junior Hot Rod car, I instantly fell in love with it and being back on tarmac. 6 months of testing was carried out, but we decided to stay in karting, which was lucky, as in August 2022, I won the UK Kart Series UK Plate and at the next round I won the Championship in the Honda Cadet Extreme class. For the last two rounds, I then moved to my Junior Prokart, taking the UK Plate at the final round.

In 2023, I was competing in the UK Kart Series aboard my Junior Prokart, where I had podium finishes. In July 2023, we took delivery of my new MG ZR Hillclimb/Sprint car. Testing commenced immediately and all the skills I learnt previously, came flooding back. This is the car I will be competing in the MG Speed Championship, when I am 14 years old. This will give me great exposure to racing an MG ZR, which I can use when I go circuit racing in a full blown ZR racer, when I am 16.

My goal is to be a motorsport champion in cars in the future. I am looking forward to following in my family's footsteps and getting into a race car as soon as I can.

Until that point, I will work my hardest to be as successful in my racing, as I can be.

Thank you for looking at my website. The best way to keep up to date with my progress is on my Facebook and Instagram pages.
